Another Jam Session event is coming! 🎸
On Thursday, October 8, 2020, the following musicians will perform on our stage:
➡ Borys Janczarski – tenor saxophone
➡ Mark Waggoner – guitar

The concert will take place from 20:00 to 23:00
Admission: PLN 20
We also invite musicians who want to take part in the Jam Session. Please be advised that five musicians can play on stage at the same time.
ABOUT MUSICIANS:
Borys Janczarski
Born in Warsaw, Poland. Started playing saxophone after finishing high school. Also graduated in international and European law in France. During his university studies in France
studied with French saxophone players Jean Francois Bonnel, Olivier Temime, Eric Barret and Lionel Belmondo. After his return to Poland studied music on his own and with the polish trumpet player, composer and jazz educator Piotr Wojtasik. Since 2002 a regular member of bands led by the legendary polish drummer, Kazimierz Jonkisz. He has also had the chance to share the stage, tour and record with: Billy Harper (DVD, “Billy Harper – Live in Poland, 2007”), Monty Waters Quintet (2002-2008), Isham “Rusty” Jones, Kevin Mahogany, Stephen McCraven Quartet, Rasul Siddik, John Scofield and John Medeski, Ronnie Cuber, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Janusz Muniak, Piotr Wojtasik , Janusz Skowron, Sławomir Kulpowicz, Kuba Stankiewicz, Artur Dutkiewicz, Janusz Szrom, AMC Trio, Joanna Gajda, Adama Kamissoko/Kuba Pogorzelski, Pavol Bodnar (album “ECCE”,2006), Big Band Konglomerat amongst others…

Michal Jaros
Double bass player, born in 1976, Poland. Currently resides in Warsaw. Graduate of Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin Music School Jazz Studies Program and the Jazz and Popular Music Department of the Katowice Academy of Music. Competitions in which he has participated and won awards include Grand Prix at the Jazz on the Oder’96 Festival, Jazz Juniors Cracow’02 and the “Swinging Raven” Award at Hot Jazz Spring Czestochowa’03. He performed with many premiere jazz musicians: Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith, Terence Blanchard, Ronnie Cuber, Judy Bady, Mark Waggoner, Ed Cherry, Janusz Muniak, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Piotr Wojtasik, Piotr Baron, Bernard Maseli, Grazyna Auguscik, Artur Dutkiewicz, Eryk Kulm, Grzegorz Karnas, Michal Tokaj, Marek Dyjak among others. Mark Waggoner, jazz guitarist from Los Angeles, USA. Currently living Warsaw, Poland. Studied at the University of New Orleans and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Performed with: Jack McDuff, Buddy DeFranco, Bob Sheppard, Ron Stout, Carl Saunders, Don Menza, Mike Fahn among

Played with Eric „Kamau” Gravatt’s band for ten years. Toured with singers: Freda Payne, Helen Reddy, Glenn Yarbrough. Can be heard on recordings of various american musicians including Sam Most, Henry Franklin, the group Bopsicle, Kenny Horsta, Jay Young and Don Menza. Taught jazz at workshops, at St. Thomas Middle School in Los
Angeles, and during jazz workshops at Northwoods Jazz Campus in Rhinelander, Winsconsin and Saddleback College, Orange County, California.
Marcin Jahr
Drummer, polish jazz musician, born in 1969 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Son of Ulrich Jahr.
Current cooperation – various projects of Jan „Ptaszyna” Wróblewski, Funky Groove, quartet „Adam Wendt & Friends”, Brandon Furman Trio, Wojciech Niedziela Trio i Quartet, „Wooden Soul Quartet” i „Jazzowe Poetycje” of Jacek Niedziela, „Bright Ella’s Memorial” with Ewa Bem, Piotr Wojtasik, Bisquit, Magda Piskorczyk.
He participated in polish jazz festivals in Poland and abroad: Jazz nad Odrą, Jazz Jamboree, Jazz Standard Festival Siedlce, „Jazz w Muzeum” in Ostrow Wlkp., Pori Jazz Festival `87 (Finland), Istanbul Festival `93 (Turkey), ’99 Euro Big Band of Matusz Jakabcic (Bratislava, Słovakia).
